Leading industry player Pascal Roche joins Sacem as its new chief technology officer

Neuilly, September 28, 2017 – Sacem have today announced the appointment of Pascal Roche as Chief Technology Officer, and the membership of its Executive Committee.

As part of his role, Mr Roche will lead the company's technology strategy and policy and steer its implementation, in line with Sacem's commitment to generating value for its members. He will also join the organisation’s Executive Committee. Under his supervision, Sacem will continue to modernise its digital tools as it pioneers in the crucial field of "Big Data".

Sacem have three strategically important technology projects underway at present:

  • The ongoing transformation of Sacem’s digital systems for processing rights and distribution
  • The implementation of URights, the global solution for processing rights online, in partnership with IBM
  • The pursuit of innovative projects, such as the experimentation with blockchain, which was launched by Sacem alongside ASCAP and PRS for Music.

Mr Roche previously held senior management positions in the Fnac group for 15 years, (from 1998 to 2013), where he contributed to the launch and development of its e-commerce site, Fnac.com and its multichannel systems, both in France and internationally. He was also Vice-President for Online Commerce at Dassault Systèmes from 2013, where he worked on defining and implementing an online services marketplace which launched a 3D printing platform, on-line and worldwide.

Mr Roche is a graduate of the University of Lille (Master's in Science in Management from the IAE of Lille and DESS Information Systems and Decision Support).

The Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music (SACEM) aims to represent and defend its members’ interests in view of promoting musical creation in all its forms (from contemporary music to jazz, rap, hip-hop, French chanson, film music, music for video, etc.) along with other repertoires (humor, poetry, dubbing-subtitling, etc.).
