A Board of Directors at the heart of creative issues
Sacem is based on a unique governance model, with a Board of Directors chosen by its 240,000 members to defend their rights in France and abroad. The Board is made up of six female songwriters, six male composers, six female publishers, as well as one male director and his deputy, all elected by their peers. This model embodies the diversity, vitality and richness of musical and artistic creation.
.At a time when emerging digital technologies, notably artificial intelligence, are profoundly transforming the creative ecosystem, the foundations of copyright are regularly called into question. These changes pose a direct threat to the fair remuneration of creators.
In this context, the role of the Board of Directors is strategic. It is the voice of Sacem's members, and it is where the major choices are made to defend a fair model that serves the interest of creators and publishers.
Composition of the Board of Directors
Elected for a three-year term (two years for writer-directors), one-third of Board is renewed each year. The Chairman is elected by the Board for a one-year renewable term.
