Will Open AI recognise the value of copyright now?

In its fight against DeepSeek, Open AI has accused its Chinese competitor of using Open AI outputs to train its model, in violation of its terms of service.

Such an accusation from a major AI Player serves as a reminder — as if one were needed — of the importance of respecting intellectual property.

Respect for copyright and all IP is a cardinal principal in any democracy.

We sincerely hope that Open AI will have the same consideration when it uses the works of creators, like Sacem's members, to train its AI models.

Sacem reiterates that it is not opposed to the development of AI tools but only wishes to see its creators fairly remunerated when their works are used in this new way.
